The Cambridge–Oxford Alumni Club of Hungary (COACH) is pleased to launch the COACH Scholarship, as part of our commitment to support the academic and personal development of students. The Scholarship aims to further students’ academic goals and career development, broadly understood, and shall be a prestigious award made to deserving individuals.

The COACH Committee therefore invites applications for its Scholarship from Hungarians studying at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. All Hungarian students are eligible to apply who are enrolled in full-time study and have at least 6 months remaining in their studies at the time of application, or have proof of admission to continue their studies at Cambridge or Oxford on another course (e.g. master’s after bachelors or PhD after master’s).

The Committee aims to give out scholarships to the tune of £500, should suitable candidates present themselves, although this may be adjusted to suit the successful candidates’ aims.

The selection criteria are a combination of academic merit, community leadership and financial need (broadly understood). Candidates can plan use the funds flexibly, but we do require intentions to be laid out at the time of application.

To apply, please submit your details using this form and send your CV (no more than 2 pages, written in English) to committee@oxcam-hungary.org by 12 noon, 23 February 2024. Additionally, we request a letter of reference from a suitable referee be sent to the same email address by the same deadline to support your application. We expect decisions to be made by April, with a view to hand out prizes at our Annual Dinner.

In your application, please include information about your course, outline relevant outstanding academic or sporting achievements, community leadership engagements, awards or funding received and potential financial need, and detail how you propose to use the Scholarship and how that would contribute to your personal, academic or career goals.

Please note that submitting an application after the deadline, or inaccurate or incomplete information provided in the application will result in disqualification from the selection process.

We are looking forward to receiving your application and wish you good luck in the process.
